Highlights of Today’s Show...
February 6, 2010
This week Yo Soy Latino celebrated its 1st Year Anniversary on the Air and what a rousing show it was. Jose’s energy filled the airwaves as he set in motion the momentum in the studio covering national and local news while giving it a stir from time to time. And as we all know, it’s much more fun to stir the pot!

In honor of our 1st anniversary, YSL had a very special guest for our listeners today. His works have been performed at the American Ballet Theatre; the Ballet de Monterrey including the Royal Ballet and the list goes on. He is not afraid of taking a traditional ballet and modernizing it. So without further adu Jose introduced Mr. Robert Hill Orlando Ballet’s Artistic Director.

There is more to Mr. Hill besides his years of training at the ballet. In the course of the conversation Jose asked, why did you choose ballet? It was then that he mentioned he initially started his path as a gymnast and swimmer. It was his athletic training in high school which gave rise to his passion for the ballet.

Hill worked under Mikhail Baryshnikov from the American Ballet Theatre. Then after much training as a principal dancer himself with the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden and the New York City Ballet, he joined the Ballet de Monterrey as Artistic Director where he was able to use his own multidimensional dance mind to heighten the artistic and technical level of the performers.

It is this dazzling experience which he brings to the Orlando Ballet. As Jose continued the interview you could see his light hearted spirit emerge. Both Robert and Jose discussed upcoming performances especially his latest choreographed work, ‘BAILAMOS!’ which is sure to be one of the best interpretations of the ballet ever made!

This presentation will contain all the fiery elements from explosive turns to passionate movements, and seductive steps all of which makes good sizzling Latin dance routines. Don’t be surprised if you find yourselves swaying in your seats as you see the performers groove while listening to the rhythms of yesteryear. It is a 90-minute event opening at the Orange County Convention Center on Friday, February 19th at 8:00 p.m. Our very own Haydee Ayala was invited to see a sneak performance.

Hottest Trends in Boots and Shoes!
February 6, 2010
We're facing a year of delicacy and tradition and while many of us will be wearing classical silhouettes and subdued colors we'll all be in need of making them pop, that’s a given. After all, doesn't every fashionista want to stand out from the crowd? So for the woman who isn’t shy and wants that 'stand out' look here are a few of the hottest trends in boots and shoes, beginning with boots.

Thigh high boots/over the knee boots are HOT, HOT, and HOT! And, they come in a variety of styles:

Classic: for a classic or elegant take on the over-the-knee boot, your best bet is to go for a slim-fitting suede pair with a round or tapered toe.
Rock: consider a tight black leather over-the-knee boot that screams rock-chic; tough, but sexy.

Futurism/Cyberpunk: building upon the cyberpunk influences, some designers have thrown an element of dark futurism into the thigh-high boot mix.

Quirky: if none of the above is audacious enough for you, and you really want to stand out, there are many other less subtle takes on this trend, nothing short of brazen. With such a variety to pick from select the one that best fits your personal style. But a hint to the wearer, avoid wearing thigh-high boots in place of pants, leggings or other form of leg covers.

Shoes: Heels remain a staple to women though they continue to vary as more and more designers step it up experimenting with bold new shapes, constructions, and styles. You’re going to see a lot of t-strap stiletto, open toe sandals to the wide ankle strap platform and let’s not forget the classic traditional shoes. My suggestion is to put a pair that will create that right mood for you!

In closing, we at YSL owe all of you a debt of gratitude for making this one unforgettable year for us. Therefore, YSL wishes to convey to our listeners and guests a special thank you for making this year incredibly rewarding.

So come back and join Jose and Haydee and the YSL team this Valentine's weekend as we revisit with Ms. Lara Dien to see what’s brewing in her world of erotica.
