Hall Pass— 2.5 Star Rating
Comedy
To be blunt the 1955 classic movie of “The Seven Year Itch” with Marilyn Monroe was a lot better. “HALL PASS” though sporadically funny was also particularly disappointing in spite of its cast members—Owen Wilson, Jenna Fisher, Christina Applegate, and Nicky Whelan.
It had a mellow and relaxing comedy of some common sensibility with lots of eye candy that’s sure to appeal to any generation. But, to this moviegoer, it was too ambitious at trying to illustrate aging men who are quelled or feel suppressed by the old ball and chain (marriage).
So what's the bottom line? This film is a bittersweet look into the meager existence of these men who make an attempt to fight off the aging process by recapturing their youth. Much like the clichés when one is buying sports cars or motorbikes to make them more appealing to the opposite sex. However, one thing is certain! After leaving the theater you’ll return home with a healthier appreciation for your mate. Therefore, all was not lost. As a result, I gave it a 2.5 star rating.

Orlando, FL — The studio was buzzing with excitement as Jose Miranda, host of the Yo Soy Latino Show, opened with a fierce assault on the Republic Party who sadly enough have lost their way. Miranda spoke of their open attacks on Planned Parenthood, to immigration and jobs and the latest PBS funding.
Right now woman’s rights are under brutal attack while many Floridians remain jobless despite the downward slide in the percentage that was recently reported and a budget crisis that continues to loom. Of course, let’s not forget the plans on revoking funding for PBS which would remove free programming like Sesame Street and Reading is Fundamental.
First on the guest lineup was Destiny Lopez, Director of Latino Engagement for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Ms. Lopez spoke of the damaging affects these talks have had on Planned Parenthood, a service which assist both men and women struggling with high healthcare cost or a lack of insurance. The PPFA offers many services—education, routine checkups and more. More so for women then men since women do need checkups regularly but often put it off because it causes a strain on family income. Abortion on the other hand is just 3% nationwide of what the PPFA provides. Though one caller refuted the 3 percentile stating that this number is greater, which of course the argument was presented by those who are looking to cut back yet the PPFA remained firm that abortions are only 3% according to Ms. Lopez.
So YSL did some investigative work on the statistics of abortion. According to census.gov and various other reporting agencies for which race was the focal point of the report the highest number of women who obtained legally induced abortions were known to be white, the second were black and the third were other races which included Hispanics, Asians, American Indians. Only a very small percentage of women their race was unknown. In addition, these statistics indicated that from 1990 to 2006 abortions have been on a declining slope.
Next was Robert Hill, Artistic Director of the Orlando Ballet. Hill is known for his lavish and creative choreography. His quest today was in getting the word out that the Orlando Ballet is presenting for the second year, “Bailamos!” This unique production carries a heavy Latin theme with a variety of tantalizing choreographies. Its inspiration will be honoring melodies like huapango, danzon, tango and of course, some HOT Salsa dancing.
The performance is going to be for one-night-only on March 12, 2011 at 8 p.m. at the Orange County Convention Center in the Linda Chapin Theatre. You won’t want to miss it! The intensity of the music and the moves alone in “Bailamos!” will certainly bring you to your feet and what better way to close out an evening with friends, your significant other, or just a night out with the girls. Call the box office for tickets. Come out and support the Orlando Ballet in this fundraiser. All of course, YSL did manage to give away a few tickets to some of our lucky listeners.
As the hour draws near YSL closes the show with Ronald Blocker, this year’s recipient of the 2011 Florida’s Superintendent of the Year award. Mr. Blocker who leads the national’s 10th largest school district was on-hand to discuss a caller’s question on the racial tension at East River High School.
Of course, Mr. Blocker provided YSL with a copy of a letter outlining the findings of the investigation. Based on the details of this letter, the investigation revealed that the fight occurred because of a stolen cell phone and all 10 students involved confirmed same. Then a few days later a student at the pep rally runs around the gym carrying a flag from a South American country and as a result the flag was confiscated and the student escorted out.
The following day several students came to school wearing clothing containing flags. Administration erroneously considered this to be a possible disruption and asks those students to remove the article of clothing. Parents of these students considered this action inappropriate and complained that the administrator’s action was discriminatory. It is also said that of the six concerns brought to the attention of the school, five were investigated and only one was deemed accurate.
In addition, there were two most recent incidents one of which was outside the school grounds involving an East River High School student and two adult males. Although the fight occurred in the community law enforcement’s investigation and that of a district staff determined the fight was not racial in nature. The second fight which happened on school campus involving one Hispanic youth and an Anglo young man again after the investigation of a school staff and law enforcement determined that it too was not racial in nature.
There have been several measures taken. Selected students and staff have form a group titled “PULSE,” This involves working together to increase awareness of cultural diversity in the school addressing the three major areas of concern—History of the Area; Geographic and Environmental Challenges; and Economic Conditions. Finally, the school contracted with California University at Eastbay to sponsor Challenge Day on April 28th. The objective is to tear down the walls of separation and inspire participants to work and live in an encouraging environment of acceptance and respect.

Trendy Hair Styles 2011
As we enter spring, now would be the time to get your locks in perfect condition with these HOT hair style trends for 2011. Start with a cut that gives you a chance to play with texture. A style that will not only match your bone structure and skin type but allow you to pull off the daring glam looks in an instant.
For example short styles with BANGS, very hot this year! Perhaps the look was stirred after Angelina Jolie’s character in the movie SALT. However, keep in mind that bangs can be a drawback and may not for everyone.
Now for the mid-length wearer, this is the most dominant of hairstyles because it is a safe haven for women allowing them to test the haircuts without much effort. A medium length hairstyle will give a woman a renew outlook, one that’s refresh and still heightens their features. It is quite flexible for any style and can add volume to your hair while making it look flowingly.
Long trendy hairstyles are still in the running and are one of the most popular trends for this year. As more females take pleasure wearing their stunning long locks with wavy layers. However, the straight hair is still a head turner.
Obviously, not all styles are for everyone. Still, my suggestion would be to pick one that closes matches your inner being and more importantly will allow the outer you thrive.

Four things to expect from the 2011 MLB season:
1. Hanley Ramirez Will Earn the NL MVP Award
The Marlins bought in some talent on the mound and at bat to make up for the depart Dan Uggla. Ramirez, on the other hand, knows he will need to take more of a leadership role and be the spark to keep the offense going. However, you can expect a MVP season from Ramirez as he enters his fifth year in the majors after coming off a disappointing 2010 season. Reason being he will remind the rest of baseball why he is the best in the game aside from Albert Pujols.
2. The New York Yankees Won’t Make the Playoffs
As the Yankees enter the 2011 season there are several question on their pitching staff. For starters, the Yankees have been unable to bring in any big arms to help bolster its lineup and much of the team’s success is being placed on Phil Hughes and A.J. Burnett. To find the same level of production from their star players—Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, and Derek Jeter seems unlikely. Sadly enough it doesn’t appear like they will have enough juice to make it to the playoffs.
3. The Emergence of a Small Market Team
Just about every year baseball fans see a small market team who goes against the big boys to make a serious run at a playoff berth. This year you can expect to see the Baltimore Orioles put the heat on some of the top dogs in the AL East. The Orioles have added some power with their bats and have some young talented pitchers. Plus, they are going to be the team who shows the biggest improvement over their 2010 record of 66-96.
4. Legitimate Triple Crown Threat
The last time baseball fans saw a Triple Crown winner was Carl Yastrzemski who earned the honor in 1967 with the Boston Red Sox, leading the way with a .321 batting average (44 HRs and 121 runs driven in). Two players to watch for in 2011 will be Miguel Cabrera—Detroit Tigers (who was in the top three in each category but Josh Hamilton and Jose Bautista kept him from the award) and Albert Pujols—St. Louis Cardinals’ slugger, despite the media circus regarding a new deal.
FOOTBALL - CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bears have restructured Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers’ contract to create more salary-cap room for next season, information leaked by a source under the condition of anonymity.
Peppers signed a six-year deal worth potentially $91.5 million a year, was due a $10.5 million roster bonus for next season. Instead, the team exercised its right to convert that money into a signing bonus and prorate it over the remaining years of his contract, which runs through the 2015 season. That saves roughly $8 million in cap space for next season, giving the Bears more room to bring in free agents and retain their own.
BASKETBALL - FLORIDA (Orlando Sentinel) — The Orlando Magic storm back from 24 down in the 3rd quarter to shock rival Miami Heat, finally getting their signature win! This is the second-greatest comeback in team history.
BOSTON (AP) — Boston Celtics forward Glen Davis will miss a week due to a left knee injury but no major damage. However, it didn’t affect Wednesday’s victory game over the Phoenix Sun. Davis is averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Clippers got their leading scorer back, and he didn’t miss a beat. Eric Gordon scored nine of his 24 points in the final 4:46 and Los Angeles snapped a five-game losing streak with a 106-103 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

Steamed Red Snapper Packets
Jamaicans call this dish “roast fish,” even though the seafood actually streams in a foil packet with vegetables. Pair it with Vermentino, a white wine, as that will go well with white fish like snapper, partly because Vermentino’s lemony acidity works in a similar way to a squeeze of lemon.
Total Time: 3 HRS Serves: 6
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons canola oil, plus more for brushing
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
4 carrots, thinly sliced on the diagonal
1 bunch of scallions, cut into 3-inch lengths
18 okra, halved lengthwise
½ Scotch bonnet or habanera Chile, seeded and minced
2 tomatoes cut into eighths
Pinch of ground allspice
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Six 7-ounce red snapper fillets (about 1 ½ inches thick), skin lightly scored
Lemon wedges, for serving, if desired
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 500°. In a large skillet, heat the 2 tablespoons of canola oil. Add the garlic and carrots and cook over moderately high heat, stirring, until they are barely tender, about 3 minutes. Add the scallions, okra and Scotch bonnet and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the tomatoes and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Stir in the allspice and season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
Place six 12-inch squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil on a work surface, shiny side down, and brush with oil. Season the snapper fillets with salt and pepper and place one in the center of each piece of foil. Spoon the vegetables over the fillets. Fold up the sides of the foil and seal each packet.
Arrange the packets on a sturdy baking sheet and bake for about 18 minutes, until the fish is tender and the vegetables are cooked through. Transfer the packets to plates.

Dry Skin Care – Remedy and Treatment
Having dry skin may sound good but it can cause problems. If you have dry skin, you probably don't have pimples very often but you may have skin that is dull and flakes which can make your lines and wrinkles look worse than they are.
Your age and your environment can cause you to have dry skin. As you get older, your sebaceous glands produce less sebum, the natural oil your skin needs. Also, your skin retains less moisture as you age because of the way collagen and elastin, which bind skin together break down. As these break down, your skin cannot retain as much moisture and you develop dry skin. If you live in a warm, dry, and windy environment, that can contribute to dry skin as well, so does too much sun exposure and using harsh cleansers on your skin. Your genes are also a factor.
If you live in an area that is windy and has little humidity, you may have dry skin. Places with very cold winters can also contribute to dry skin. You may spend most of your time inside but the heating and air conditioning in the home can remove moisture from the air and your skin. Dry skin will appear flaky and look very tight since it causes the pores to shrink. You may not see any symptoms of dry skin yet but as you age, you should be on the lookout for them.
You need to take care with dry skin to keep it moisturized. You can do this by avoiding products with alcohol in them. Look for cleansers and lotions with alpha hydroxyl, lactic acid, petroleum lanolin, and glycerin in them.
Your dry skin may not feel like it is dirty but you still need to clean it when you get up and when you go to bed with a gentle cleanser and using warm, not hot, water, and rinse it with cool water. Avoid hot water if you have dry skin. Pat your skin to dry it after washing it and use a light moisturizer like one with Vitamin E. Your make up should be moisturizing as well.
It is also helpful if you have dry skin to drink a lot of water and eat foods high in water like watermelon and cucumber. Fresh produce is a good source of hydration for your skin and gives you important nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. Antioxidants are good for helping slow the breakdown of your skin layers.
