This Week’s Movie Review:
Just Go With It — 2.5 Star Rating
Comedy & Romance
Although Anniston and Sandler (whose character is that of a Beverly Hills’ plastic surgeon) play extremely well off each other with warmth and charm and Nicole Kidman was outstanding, this film is trite. However, if you’re willing to put aside all the nonsensical things it actually works.

Highlights of Today’s Show...
Live Discussion with Keith Longmore

Orlando, FL – Yo Soy Latino (YSL) began broadcasting in February 2008 thanks to host Jose Miranda who likes being on top of his game. Between the mayhem, the humor, movies and reviews, recipes, sports to the most recent events, which of course will always add the bells and whistles going off in the studio and sometimes even create a hot mess of conversation.

Today YSL covered many issues including a much needed topic about an incident that happened a year ago which lead to the untimely death of a teenager, Raheem Key. The youth wore clothing that was contradictory to the dress code of the mall. The child was then chased off the premises into ongoing traffic by security guards who patrol the Waterford Lakes Town Center in East Orange.

What was the rationale behind the chase? According to FHP’s during the interview the chase was not life threatening, then why?

Jose welcomes Keith Longmore into a live discussion as they delve into the dynamics of this situation further. Longmore who is known as a standup guy and a pillar of this community did not hold back his views. He felt this incident was a travesty and rightly so. For more information on this exchange we recommend you go to last week’s YSL archived show.

And, for those of you who missed our program last week, Lara Dien was gifting to the first five individuals a copy of her latest book, HeatIndex. Keep in mind it is on a first come first serve basis and subject to availability. To inquire reach out to her on Hearts and Handcuffs – it’s not the heat, it’s the steam or also on The Wild Rose Press.

Well, that concludes our show for today. Don’t forget, YSL is going strong mainly because you have made it your one-stop radio show. Join us next week as Amy Mercado, Chairperson for the Democratic Party of Orange County, will be making an encore appearance on the Yo Soy Latino radio hour.

New inspirations for spring 2011!
Top 3 daywear trends: whites, denims and LONG hemlines.

WHITE is definitely going to be a key player for spring daywear. Since most white garments tend to be see-through, wearing a white or nude slip, camisole or hosiery can help prevent those “peak-a-boo” moments.

We all know DENIM almost never goes out of style. And it can be versatile enough to go from day into evening wear. What’s hot for this season is the denim suit and it can be warmer to wear than a pair of jeans. So do wear them during the beginning of spring.

Last is the LONG HEMLINES. Designers have certainly turned this tradition on its ear for this season. Hemlines are much longer giving way to the romantic look scene and making it a staple for daywear elegance.

Whether you choose a dress or skirt that sweeps to the ground, wear flat sandals as heels can dig into the fabric and tear the garment or worse it can cause some serious injury from the fall.

Mmmm Recipe...
Barbecued Shrimp with Cheese Grits

It’s a quick Southern fusion meal that’s uncomplicated yet delicious. Not only will it bring harmony to your table but will delight your palate.

Pairing Suggestion:
For this rich cheese grits you’ll need a wine with some substance, but one that isn't so tannic and massive that it will overwhelm the sweet shrimp—in other words, Pinot Noir

• TOTAL TIME: 1 HR 20 MIN
• SERVINGS: 6

Ingredients:
1. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1 small onion, cut into 1/4-inch dice
3. 2 garlic cloves, very finely chopped
4. 1 1/4 cups ketchup
5. 1/4 cup bourbon
6. 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
7. 2 tablespoons molasses
8. 2 tablespoons honey
9. 2 teaspoons Tabasco
10. 1 teaspoon chopped thyme
11. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
12. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
13. 1 1/2 pounds peeled and deveined large shrimp
14. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
15. Cheese Grits, for serving

Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Add the onion and cook over moderate heat until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the ketchup, bourbon, cider vinegar, molasses, honey, Tabasco, thyme and cayenne. Simmer over low heat, until thickened, about 40 minutes.

2. Transfer the barbecue sauce to a blender and puree until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Pour 1/3 cup of the sauce into a small bowl and reserve the rest.

3. Preheat a grill pan. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and brush on both sides with the 1/3 cup of barbecue sauce. Grease the grill pan with the oil. Grill the shrimp over moderate heat, turning once, until cooked through, about 4 minutes. Transfer to plates and serve with cheese grits and the remaining barbecue sauce.

MAKE AHEAD
The barbecue sauce can be refrigerated for up to a week.
