Knight and Day...
Review Summary
2 stars
Is “Knight and Day” worth seeing? Well, let’s see. The movie bubbles happily for almost an hour in part due to Cruise’s performance as a rogue secret agent and the contrast between Diaz and Cruise is almost charming before it flags dipping into a state of dreariness and anguish for almost a half-hour. Then it picks up again for a finale, having that same light touch as the beginning.
Unfortunately it is nowhere near the level of the original 1963 film with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. The movie was way too over the top and incredibly far-fetched for me. Although I must admit there were plenty of thrills, chases, explosions and two of the best smiles you’ll ever find in a film.

Highlights of Today’s Show...
YSL presents Scribbles’ Corner with the Amazing Women of the Anhinga Writers’ Studio – Beverly G. Browning, Mary Anna Evans, and Diana L. Tonnessen
July 10, 2010
By: Anthony Gaenzle
Hosts of Yo Soy Latino, Jose Miranda and Haydee Ayala, welcomed writer Darlyn Finch back to the studio for the second installment of Scribbler’s Corner. The segment focuses on local writers who join The Yo Soy Latino crew to offer advice, ideas, and more to listeners who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

The Corner welcomed experienced ghost writer, Beverly G. Browning to the studio. The spooky job title does not embody the lively spirit that Browning brings to the table. Throughout the show she enlightened listeners to the intricacies of her career and kept the hosts on their toes with her witty commentary.
“Ghost writers don’t usually write ghost stories,” Browning joked. She elaborated, explaining that she is hired by individuals who wish to have their story told, but don’t have the tools to put the words into place.

“We are hired by publishing houses,” she said, “to help people write amazing books.” Browning cited that she even had to write from a male perspective on occasion, keeping her constantly on her toes.

Later, Browning was joined, via telephone, by the remaining two members of the AnHinga triangle, a Mary Anna Evans, author of the award winning Faye Longchamp series, which is composed of six novels, talked about her latest release. Her new books, Strangers, takes the lead archaeologist lead character to St. Augustine. The book hits shelves soon.

Haydee moved the conversation to Tonnessen, asking her what her next move would be. “I’m actually pretty busy working with magazines,” said Tonnessen, “and I try to balance that with my family.”

As the show moved along, Haydee and the ladies staged a mutiny. The conversation moved out of Jose’s control. They took over the show, laughing and carrying on, and providing a delightfully entertaining time for listeners.

Eventually Jose wrestled back control of the show and sent the listeners along with his usual, inspiring good bye.

Fashion...
Partially Braided Hairstyles
July 10, 2010
Braids are an easy way to add a touch of sophistication to an otherwise humdrum hairstyle especially here in Florida as the temperatures push upward into the record-breaking double and triple digits. However, with a little creativity you can instantly create a more eye-catching style in a matter of minutes. And what’s more, it will totally change your look.

And, can be the perfect balance between a casual romantic and an amazing modern hairdo. It’s an excellent choice during these scorching summer days when you want to look your best without the fuss. You can pick from a variety of braids depending on your personal liking and skills. The most popular is the French braid which just happens to be my personal favorite and it can be done extremely quickly. Furthermore, because you’re not wasting time styling your hair it can make a huge difference in how you feel and look.

Braids are ideal for long or short hair depending on where you opt to place it. For example, a more centrally placed braid will become the main focal point of attraction for your hairstyle. It can create the ultimate image of femininity, grace, style and of course elegance. So, when you feel that your do isn’t reaching its true potential, try taking this short cut and do a braid across the crown of your mane and push the rest of your hair back in a pony tail or bun. Not only will you feel refresh but you’ll look fabulous!
