Review Summary

This run-like-hell thriller starring Angelina Jolie (who plays Evelyn Salt) will satisfy anyone’s taste. That is if you enjoy movies that will keep you glued to your seat. The film's primary thrust is the sight of Jolie leaping from truck to truck on a freeway, or from subway to station stop at high speed, or mowing down a surprising number of New York's finest, no offense fellows. You’re held spellbound wondering if this Mata Hari is working for us or them, or what?
"Salt" is a combination of pursuit, evasion, name-clearing and perhaps a reversal of one or two other favorites. For example, at a state funeral in Manhattan, Salt blasts away at the pipe organs (she has her reasons), filling the place with chaos. There was awareness to it much like Alfred Hitchcock's "Secret Agent"; and, for those of you who are unfamiliar it’s a movie generations back.
So make sure you have what you need from the snack bar before you go to your seat, you don’t want to miss a scene!

The Women of the Board of Education

ORLANDO, Fla. – Yo Soy Latino revisited the topic of Florida’s educational system this Saturday. The upcoming election on August 24, for School Board Chairpersons, sparked intense interaction between this week’s guests and several callers.
Jose and Haydee welcomed Joie Cadle, current school board chairmen, and Leona Rachman, who is currently campaigning for a spot on the board. The four, along with a few inquisitive callers, discussed the more poignant topics that have residents at attention, regarding the Orange County school districts, as well as the rest of the state.
Cadle, elected to the board in 2002, got her start as a volunteer for 20 years in the Orange County public school system. She quickly moved up the ladder, earning a spot as PTA president, 3 times, at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Now serving her second term, Cadle stepped up to the plate to answer questions from Jose and from the listeners about the issues that our schools face in the upcoming year. After taking a ribbing from Jose about the Yankees loss last night in Tampa, she eagerly got down to business.
“We are in great shape for this year,” said Cadle, “But we do need the parents to help us.” Getting the parents involved has been a great concern that has been brought to the forefront in recent years.
She went on to discuss issues involving the state’s education budget, including the necessity for more money. She elaborated, explaining that the state is allowing $400 less per child compared to the previous year.
After a quick commercial break to help “pay the bills”, Laura Rachman joined the Yo Soy Latino crew.
Rachman, who is on the campaign trail for a spot on the school board, has over twenty years of experience in the educational sector. Boasting a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama, as well as a Masters Degree from UCF, her resume speaks of her experience.
“One of the things I’d like to see happen is, I believe that we need to set an ethics policy.” Rachman said. She stressed the need for us to shift away from electing politicians and elect educators instead, citing the importance of the hands on experience.
Rachman and Cadle will both be on the upcoming ballot, August 24, running for non-opposing roles as chair persons on the school board.

An Awe-Inspiring Look in Menswear

Dolce & Gabbana (D&G) presented an exciting and rousing mainly black, white and grey lineup in their fall show in Milan and it was HOT based on the video I reviewed!
The models were wearing knits over trousers which narrowed at the bottom as they paraded the catwalk against a huge screen backdrop showing scenes of "Baaria" while a soothing piece of instrumental music simulated your senses...injecting a bit of the God Father into their presentation.
These sexy hunks wore vests tucked into black washed-out jeans or long-john type trousers and shorts. White shirts were sleek and tucked into jeans or black trousers. The look was further accessorized with black caps and boots."
This collection of these luxurious pieces with a sensual, masculine, classic appeal gave new meaning to the bad boy Sicilian feel and the return to the well made traditional clothing.
The staging was incredible as the men walked out quickly in groups. Presenting themselves like they were at a meeting (not your typical boardroom meetings) or a political rally if you get my drift. There were plenty of suits, leather jackets t-shirts on these hunks and believe me ladies if you had been a buyers at this show you would have said, “I’ll take two of each”.
One thing is certain that’s one sure way to help sell the heck out of your designer clothing and D&G did an impeccable job. I know...it worked on me and I wasn’t even there!
